Braniff hoped to bring the end of the “plain plane” with pastel colours.
Braniff sought to be a vibrant, colorful airline. A lot of Latin influence came to play, given it’s main international network consisted of flights to Central and South America.
Superjet Crash.
I’ve always had high hopes for the Sukhoi Superjet 100: orders were surprisingly healthy, even from countries outside Russia. It looked like a pretty promising plane, it had fly-by-wire and a full glass cockpit. One of a few recent/in development regional jets slightly lacking the 100 seat mark (like the Bombardier CSeries or the Mitsubishi MRJ). Russian aircraft were always among my favourites, and the aircraft industry there had taken a turn for the worse, but with the Superjet and MS-21, I thought things were looking up. ![]()
Reports are now coming in that one has crashed into a mountain in Indonesia. Reports are a little faint and no-one is yet sure what went wrong. But bodies are already being found and chances of survivors are unlikely.
The regional jets and the smaller jets like the MD-80/90s make the largest sound on reverse thrust.
Soviet built Yakovlev Yak-141. Similar to an F-35, isn’t it.
Ilyushin IL-76MD.

US Airways is proposing a merger with American Airlines, and a 737 is down in Pakistan
This is turning out to be a pretty eventful time for aviation.
I’m sure you’ve seen this, but…
(In my opinion she was lucky it wasn’t something like a Boeing 747 instead of an A320, or the wall could have been badly damaged.)
